Silvio’s boat

From Boats to Motor 1994, no. 9, October, pp. 50-51

The most talked about, most photographed is Silvio Berlusconi’s Magnum ’70. Here are all the secrets of this 40-knot “monster.”

If the Magnum 70 were an airplane, it would be a Concord; if it were a car, it would undoubtedly be a Ferrari Testa Rossa. Comfortably relaxed in the yacht lounge, traveling at a speed of 40 knots, it’s like riding a supersonic jet. Top speed, top luxury. But what does it look like? Kevlar hull, V-shaped racing hull, allowing high speeds even in rough seas, extreme maneuverability, and an exciting ride as the owner of the first Magnum confirms, “It’s like driving a Ferrari: stimulating, fun, it’s freedom to race.” And internally, an extra luxury category hotel. A mix of kevlar and briarwood for an all-Italian style signed Pininfarina.

The living room, structured with a C-shaped sofa, central coffee table and bar area.

Forward is the master cabin with oversize model double bed, plus the three reserved for guests, all with their own bathrooms. Amidships, a reception salon with bar to port, dining area with galley to starboard and control panel, and, for a bit of privacy, an area all dedicated to relaxation with music and TV. Aft is the sleeping area for the crew and the engine compartment. Elegant and comfortable inside, sporty and aggressive outside. Aft sundeck, living area with U-shaped sofa, coffee table and bar in the cockpit, and amidships, the driving area with settee for pilot and co-pilot, both protected by the handcrafted windshield made with stainless steel frames. A mega sports boat, a dream mini megayacht.

Another detail of the interior, the owner’s cabin strictly in blue and white, in perfect nautical style.
