First of a new species

From Boats to Motors 2018, no.1, May-June, pp. 94/97.

She aims for long sailings. She has a forward cockpit, but also a proper cabin below deck.

Boston Whaler 350 Realm represents the first example of the new expresses that the U.S. shipyard, famous for its unsinkable boats, is presenting to the public. The critical reception has been warm, so much so that at the last Miami boat show it received theInnovation Award. The styling of this 11-meter boat is eye-catching and very muscular, while still being a boat that can be enjoyed by the family on a free-for-all. The Bow Rider layout, which is so successful in the U.S. and which is beginning to be appreciated in the Mediterranean as well, because of the advantages of a configuration that provides a comfortable forward cockpit, does not invalidate the possibility of having a true double cabin in the bow, which can also be converted into a dining area with a table thanks also to the deep V sections of the hull.

Distinguishing it in profile is the dynamic superstructure that protects the extremely rational and elegant helm station with two large full-deck displays, and the forward part of the aft cockpit. The nature of the 350 Realm leads it to love long, fast rides. Mercury‘s three outboards, 250 or 350 horsepower each, and nearly 1,500-liter fuel tank enable it to cruise 310 miles at 30 knots cruising or push up to over 45 knots top speed.

Loa: 10.82 m; b.max: 3.30 m; displ: 8.37 t.; Interior: berths 2; Engine power max: 1050 HP: (min 750 HP); Cruising speed: 30 knts; Max speed: 45 knts
