In a market that chases ever-increasing size and power, is there still room for those who are looking for a small boat with which to start plying the seas, to share a day with family, friends, or for simple passion? From small family boatyards to the big names that – still, fortunately – offer yachting-friendly means, the competition is fierce, and the battle is fought over every inch, accessory but, above all, euro: will this H19CC have what it takes to be considered an ideal first boat?

4XC Design H19CC

But who is 4XC Design? A brand that defines the collaboration between two industry giants, Ranieri International boatyards and Honda Marine, united on a mission: to provide a range that meets all needs-and all budgets. Two main lines, one of RIBs and one of fiberglass open boats, made at the same Ranieri International boatyards and with exclusive set-up, optimized for Honda engines.

The layout is that of the classic open center console, with the dinette forward with a table to convert to a sundeck, and settee framing the transom, open on the port side for easy access to the water. Numerous stainless steel handrails almost everywhere, which are very important on this size to be safe at all times. But the treat is to share the Ranieri Int. hull that already mounts a step, a rarity on less than 6 meters of boat.

Two powers Honda recommends: the classic 40 hp, which at a weight of just over 500 kg is more than enough to satisfy most of the public who want a small open without a license, but also a more powerful 100 hp. It can be an attractive upgrade for those who already have a license-or even the new D1 “license”-especially if they often travel in company with a loaded boat, or in windswept stretches of sea that require more safety margin in available horsepower.

Price

When it comes to this size, value for money simply becomes paramount, when not the main selling point. In this case, the hull alone starts at €16,831 excluding VAT and engines, but Honda-ready rigging is included in the price, with 4.3 “multifunction display and Satellite SVH52, aluminum propeller, wall-mounted single-lever, cables and separator filter. Of course, staying with Honda, the two packages for the two reference powers are ready to list. With the BF40E you start at €25,475, while you need for €28,533, again excluding VAT, to unlock the higher power.
