The phenomenon of the moment? It is the wells that open up, incredibly increasing the outdoor space. Here are the trend-setting models.

A few years ago it seemed impossible to think of a boat that could be opened. It caused a sensation for the Italian company Besenzoni when it introduced Balcony in 2009: it was the system that allowed the broadside to open up and give the owner an exclusive terrace overlooking the sea. Two years later the Wider shipyard unveiled its futuristic 42-footer of incredible design. A walkaround with a set-back cockpit and an opening center cockpit that can increase the maximum beam from 3.50 to 6.60 meters: double that. It has been about ten years since their inception, and today “boats that open” are causing less of a stir, although they certainly attract a lot of interest. Truly versatile and with the ability to double or significantly increase the space on board, these solutions are often distinctive of smaller vessels where space is at a premium. Let’s find out the latest models on the market.

Everything opens up: broadside and aft platform. The EVO 43 sums up the Italian shipyard’s entire philosophy of elegance, design and plenty of space. With open masonry, the surface area increases by 40%.

A particularly innovative maxi rib, Anvera’s 48-footer is a concentration of design and technology.
The Italian shipyard’s designers were among the first to make an inflatable boat “openable” as well.

An out-of-the-box catamaran. Approximately 12 meters long, it has walls that can be opened to give a true open space at the water’s edge.

Just arrived on the market with many innovative solutions. A boat for the family but also for fishing and diving, and the opening broadside allows you to make the best use of the space according to your needs.

From the futuristic Wally shipyard world-famous for its sailing maxis and megayachts debuts the new 14.50-meter “tender” with an opening cockpit. Designed as a support boat for large boats, it is also a very luxurious day cruiser.
