About 300 boats are preparing to enliven the 2023 edition of the Venice Boat Show, scheduled for May 31 to June 4. The fourth edition of the Venetian event sees a return ofsailing, with twice as many exhibitors as in 2022, and a decisive step forward in sustainable boating.
More than 300 boats in attendance – about 50 electric ones
Once again this year the Arsenal, with its 55,000 square meters of water basins, 1,100 linear meters of piers and 30,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition space, will host the event. The heart of the Serenissima ‘s navy will display the more than 220 national and international exhibitors, with a total of 300 boats, 240 of which will be in the water. There will be even more electric boats this year, with 30 percent more boats than in 2022 and a truly massive presence. There will also be space for exhibitors from the world of design and nautical furniture, as well as Venetian craft shipbuilding, within the 5,000 square meters of the large tense area. In addition to the boats on display, there will be no shortage of conventions, conferences and presentations, with a calendar of more than 50 events featuring innovation, services, education and sustainability among the main themes.
Venice Boat Show 2023: the boats and shipyards on display
Among the most anticipated boats at the Venice Boat Show 2023 is undoubtedly the newest model in the Wally range-the Wallywhy 150, which will have its world premiere. In addition to the new 24-meter homebuilt Wally, the show will also be an opportunity to take a closer look at Bluegame’s latest design. Indeed, the Sanlorenzo Group brand will display, among others, the new hydrogen-powered tender with foils that will accompany American Magic during the America’s Cup 2024. Instead, it will be from a shipyard in Chioggia, Ocean King, the flagship among powerboats: it is the 36-meter“Ducale 120.” Yards that have confirmed their presence include Sunseeker, Beneteau, Rizzardi, Absolute, FIM, Pardo, Loy Explorer, Green Line, Sirena, and Arcadia. Exhibiting instead for the first time are Invictus, Fountaine Pajot, Nautor Swan, Solaris Power, Prestige, Rio Yacht, Sensesyacht, and Omikron.
As for the green sector, there will be more than 50 boats on display (30 percent more than last year) with several players from the electric andhydrogen worlds. Among the shipyards featured will be Candela, X Shore, Laneva and the Hydrocell project. Sustainable boats will also be involved in the third edition of the E-Regatta, with competitive trials in the Venice Arsenal and Idroscalo and a parade on the Grand Canal.
