medplastic contest 2020Medplastic Contest 2020. Ladies and gentlemen, the hunt for plastic (and more) 2020 is officially on! After the 3,500 kilograms of waste collected by the more than 2,000 hunters of Medplastic (the association we created together with our friends at Giornale della Vela to safeguard the Mediterranean) around the Mediterranean during last summer’s “No Plastic” contest, it’s back to the sea.

MEDPLASTIC CONTEST 2020: IT’S ON!

This year, between masks and single-use gloves, there will be plenty to do: Whenever you see a floating piece of trash while boating, or you are at the beach, pick it up, take a photo with the “catch” and send it to the inbox of our Instagram page @barcheamotore or post it on your profile with the hashtag #Medplastic2020, or even on the Facebook group “Medplastic Team,” telling us where you collected the “prey.”

We will repost it on all our channels and sites, and the three best photos of the “hunters” of the summer (July-early October), according to the jury, will be awarded in 2021 with fantastic prizes provided by our friends at Navico (a brand that brings together the B&G, Simrad, Lowrance and C-Map brands and is at the forefront of defending our sea): of vouchers spendable on its entire product range. To upgrade your boat and charting with the latest technology!

NOT JUST PLASTIC!

But this year is not just about going after plastic. The contest is being enriched with a “good news” section, good news. Never more than at this time do we need it. Send us your photos of sightings of fish, dolphins, seabirds, jellyfish and cetaceans, and anything else that testifies to how our Mediterranean teems with life.

We have all seen how during the lockdown nature has taken its own space, and we are sure that this year the sightings, in the course of your cruises, will be more than frequent. Again, the three best shots will win. Smartphones in hand then, and happy boating vacations to all!
