How often does a boat change arise from new needs? You start with the open one because you use it mainly in the summer to go swimming. Then maybe since there is a forward cabin you spend a night or two out. And, why not, a week! With everything open on deck, however, it is complicated. One would have to upgrade to a more protected one. What about, then, if you rediscover yourself as a fisherman on a boat with a cockpit with a table and seating? Aiata, a new Turkish shipyard, part of the industrial giant Anadolu Group, has unveiled the new Wayfinder 38. Designed by Finland’s Jarkko Jämsén, it is a new frontier in modularity with possibilities for customization and adaptability even after purchase.

For example, we know that the standard model is the open model with hard-top. Well, this boat can be transformed into a fully enclosed pilothouse with the addition of sliding side doors and a large aft window that rises on hinges. Easy if you have it done at the time of purchase, far more complicated later. Because of the ease of adding and removing these parts, you can adapt the boat to your needs whenever necessary.
So far we have previewed these possibilities, debuting at the fair. We are curious, then, to test in the water how it performs and especially to show you more closely how this customization system works.
