Comfort in the boat increasingly comes through stability. With the exploit of motor catamarans, monohulls are also gearing up to provide as much stability as possible. How? With stabilizers. There are many types(read about them here), but one of the novelties that is having the most success are the Waveless stabilizer fins from Italy’s CMC Marine.

Cmc Marine Waveless, never again without it

2020 was an important year for CMC Marine. Over 43 business deals completed with a widespread presence in the U.S. market as well. And more and more boat owners deciding to install Waveless compact fins on their boats. Launched in 2019 in September, the Waveless fins are reaping major success. The market segment in which these CMC Marine fins are doing best is the 12-meter segment.

Among the major shipyards that have chosen Waveless, which offers three models of STAB outriggers and four models of TRIM intruders, Arcadia, Azimut Benetti, Holterman Shipyard, Numarine, and Mangusta of the Overmarine Group, which has mounted Waveless on two GranSport 45 units, but also shipowners in all parts of the world, fromEurope (England, Italy, Holland, Spain, and Turkey) toAsia (Hong Kong and the Philippines) andOceania (Australia).

How CMC Marine Waveless Fins Work

Stabilizers are used to solve the problem of rolling and pitching of yachts caused by waves, weights on board and undertow. In short, you have a more stable boat both when sailing and when stationary with relief from seasickness sufferers.

Superyacht technology also applied to boats under 70 feet. The fins and electronics are the same as those used on the larger models, but adapted to provide stability for smaller boats as well.

CMC Marie’s Waveless Range

  • STAB 25, the smallest is for boats from 12 to 16 meters (fin area is 65 cm²).
  • STAB 30 are for boats from 15 to 24 meters
  • STAB 40 (between 25 and 38 meters)
  • STA B50 (30 to 40 meters)

For large boats among CMC’s models is HS60 from the High Speed System range, an evolution of the Stabilis Electra System. These outriggers are suitable for planing boats and lengths of 23 meters and above, with optimized fin profiles and new electronics to reduce footprint and weight while increasing performance.
