The FLIBS – Fort Lauderdale Boat Show 2023 – is one of the most anticipated boat shows in the world. The U.S. market has always set the standard when it comes to powerboats, and this time, too, the premises are interesting. We have scouted 10 debuting models that are very different from each other.
Cigarette Thunder 52 – 16 m
If you’re talking about American motorboats, how can you not mention Cigarettes? Cigarette Racing’s new 52 Thunder is a beastly hull nearly 16 meters long and more than 4 meters wide with outboard motorization. If the
Tirrana 59 with its 2,700 horsepower
sounded extremely powerful to you, you are about to change your mind. Despite being two meters shorter in length, this new U.S.-made “madness” can install up to 3,000 horsepower delivered by six V8 outboards
Mercury Racing 500-horsepower
each on a totally new hull with a 23-degree deadrise. The dashboard has seven adjustable cushioned seats and three 24-inch Garmin displays.

Galeon 450 HTC – 14 m
Polish shipyard launches a new sport cruiser in the US. It is called Galeon 450 HTC and is a 14-meter that once again sees the hand of Tony Castro for the lines. Eagle 47 Molokai – 15 m
Once again Aquila in motor catamarans dictates the weather. This time he does it with a 15-meter super multihull with outboard motors. From the pictures we can see four 450-horsepower Mercury Racing for a total of 1,800 horsepower. Scary power if we think that this craft is not the “typical” American-style offshore catamaran, but rather a fisherman with short-cruising elements. In short, has Aquila set out to challenge the American center consoles?

Sunseeker Ocean 182 – 55 m
There is a new good giant in town. It is called the Sunseeker Ocean 182 and is the ultimate in long-range cruising. At the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show this colossal unit on 3 decks and 185 square meters of interior space with 4 XL guest cabins on board. On the glass-covered main deck that offers uninterrupted views from bow to stern is a dining table for eight and an open kitchen create the perfect space for hosting friends and family. Further aft, a large salon with a height of more than eight feet offers seating for guests. If you pass by the American salon you will definitely notice it.
Tiara 48 LE – 15 m
Protected interior spaces, maximum versatility outside. For those who want to use the boat year-round, this medium is brilliant. It is no coincidence that the 48 is named LE, luxury express. An elegant boat, sure, but ready for adventure accomplice also the engines: three Verado V10s with 600 horsepower each. One of the coolest treats on board, however, remains the Electrically operated rotating lounge module that allows seating to be positioned toward the deck, aft, and anywhere in between. A polished teak table completes the seating area, while an electric grill and countertop are located aft of the seating area. The portside terrace allows for expanded access to the water through an integrated swim ladder.
Viking 90 Open Bridge – 27 m
Americans are never satisfied! While in center consoles came the Valhalla 55, one of the hottest U.S. shipyards at the moment in this segment also ups the ante in the long-range family. After the Viking 90 with the Enclosed Bridge, comes an open top, more “sporty” version. Debuts at FLIBS 2023.
Vanquish VQ55 Sports Line – 17 m
It may be that it promises 70 knots of top speed with five 600-horsepower outboards (need we say which ones?), it may be that it is just a blast to watch. The new VQ55 Sports Line is widely expected at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, and we are pretty sure that it will be able to make a name for itself in the American market. Partly because of the very interesting layout, partly because of the motorization. If you are more “quiet” and especially don’t like outboards in the stern because they take up space, don’t worry: it is possible to put two 1200-hp (V8) Nanni N16 diesel inboards with hydrojets, for a maximum speed of 50 knots. To regulate turbulence in the cockpit at high speed, the sides of the VQ55 are equipped with adjustable air intakes.
Chris-Craft Catalina 28 – 8.5 m
Small, but chic. And then it’s a Chris-Craft, one of the most highly regarded American brands in the world. A new Chris-Craft 28 Catalina debuts at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. From the old
28 Catalina
a few things have changed, it must be said. However, the design definitely looks interesting and ready to fill a gap in the yard’s current Catalina segment.
