Arksen 8 is the first dinghy in the Discovery Series (full range from 6 to 12 meters) from the shipyard of the same name. The Arksen brand has a special history, starting out as a boat manufacturer in 2017, presenting itself to the public for the first time at boot Düsseldorf 2019 and boasting a range of boats from 6 to 27 meters. It has one office in London, one in Southampton, and one in Victoria, Canada, and over the years has also become a brand that produces off-road vehicles (off-road vehicles, exploration campers) and outdoor clothing. The common denominator of all Arksen’s activities is one: the adventurous spirit. And it also shows in the new range of inflatables.

Arksen 8 – The ideal companion for your adventures

In Arksen’s design, an attempt is made to hold together the wilder side of life at sea and the more leisurely side , with boats that stand out for both attractive design and practical, useful features. The first rib in the Discovery range is 8 meters long and 2.9 meters wide, weighs about 2,500 kilograms and can accommodate up to 12 people. The hull has a deep V-shaped hull with 24° deadrise, and Orca 886 hypalon tubulars join at the bow outlining a double-tiered swim platform that conceals the electric windlass and anchor. The walking surface is coated with Esthec, an organic-based thermosetting synthetic material, while the structural parts are made of fiberglass.

Starting from the stern we find the swim ladder to the left of the engine area, where there is a choice of a single outboard or a pair, from 250 to 500 total horsepower. The aft cockpit houses a fold-down table and two front seats with three seats each; the one facing forward is fixed, while the one facing aft is a split bench (70/30) that can be folded down to gain space. The center element houses a wet bar with sink and an optional Kenyon barbecue, as is the optional black fiberglass hard top with electrically opening sunroof. The two seats for pilot and co-pilot are single and serve the comfortable and complete console with the wheelhouse and all the instrumentation with the two 12-inch multifunctional instruments. Also on board is a four-speaker system for in-vehicle entertainment.

The bow area is very well designed, with a second center table and another double seat. The one looking forward hides the bathroom-changing room that is also useful for stowage; the other takes advantage of the shape of the hull to carve out another comfortable seating space. The fuel tank has a capacity of 450 liters, while the water tank has a capacity of 60 liters.
