If there is one shipyard that can claim, without slogans, the idea of “redefining the standard,” it is Apreamare. With its Gozzo line, it has repeatedly updated a Mediterranean icon: first by making it planing, then by reworking its lines in a contemporary key without losing its identity. The new Gozzo 48 Cabin, presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival, is the latest chapter in this journey that began in 2020 with the Gozzo 35.

Apreamare Gozzo 48 Cabin

Marco Casali’s design makes the boat immediately recognizable: vertical prow, round stern connected to the large swim platform (movable, it also functions as a tender-lift), high bulwarks and wooden gang boss, as well as the deckhouse that signs the superstructure. The large side windows introduce a very contemporary two-tone contrast without distorting the aesthetics of the Sorrentine gozzo. Below the waterline, the live-work is a deep V with variable geometry (naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini), combined with IPS transmissions; for traditionalists, shaftline remains available.

The spaces are what distinguishes any gozzo worthy of its name: 14.70 m overall by 4.70 m beam. Step up to the left and you enter a spacious cockpit, preceded aft by the swim platform. Between the cockpit and forepeak, a large sundeck conceals the sailor cabin; the fold-down back serves the opening table, creating an outdoor dining area under the hard top (with awning mountable on carbon poles). Sliding windows connect this area to the salon: generous galley to port and C-shaped sofa to starboard, in continuity with the helm station.

Below deck, the central staircase opens to a small hallway that distributes the rooms. In the bow is the master cabin, served by a private bathroom with shower stall; on the other side is a second guest bathroom. Aft, on either side of the staircase, are two configurable rooms: in the sample tested are two twin cabins, but you can opt for a private saloon connected to the owner’s to obtain a true suite, or a larger cabin.

How it navigates

On test, with two Volvo Penta IPS 700s, the 48 Cabin touched 31.5 knots maximum. The ideal cruising speed is around 24 knots, with fuel consumption under 6 L per mile and a smooth response even on waves: this is not a “sports” boat from extreme maneuvers, but a cruiser designed for family and friends. The structural perception is solid: no panels that vibrate, no creaks typical of sailing furniture.

How much does the new Apreamare Gozzo 48 Cabin cost
