Straight from America, Aquila Yachts comes to the market with a new yacht: Aquila 46 Coupe, a semi-floating catamaran, that is, with a foil that helps the hull glide, providing part of the lift. A project that aims not only at performance, but also at fuel efficiency, without neglecting stability and comfort, essential features for a luxury yacht.

Aquila 46 Coupe

Simple but bold design that plays on the contrast of white hull stripes and black window stripes to streamline the whole line. The main salon extends to the full beam to maximize volume. It is the true crossroads of the boat, from which the cabins are accessed, fore and aft, defining the spaces. In addition to the helm station, it houses the living area, with an L-shaped sofa that can become a dining area, and a large galley, also L-shaped, set against it, which from the port side separates the salon from the aft cockpit.

The bow is arranged like a true bowrider, a configuration so dear overseas. Four wraparound seats, with the two side ones becoming chaise lounges, allow front-row enjoyment of sailing, which can become exciting when the full potential of the hull and engine is delivered.

Speed and motorization

In this regard, Aquila 46 Coupe uses two double-step hulls, but the special feature is the connecting foil between the hulls, made of carbon, which helps to be fuel-efficient but especially to achieve higher top speeds. Specifically, this catamaran can exceed 40 knots.

To achieve these results requires 1200 hp, in a pair of Mercury V12 outboards rated at 600 hp each. But if you settle for more comfortable cruising, aiming for comfort and even more for low fuel consumption, you can choose a pair of Volvo Penta D6 inboard diesel engines, with stern foot, of 440 hp each.

Below decks, the two cabins share the catamaran’s two hulls: both are spacious and have private bathrooms with separate showers. Independent entrances also make this layout perfect for charter or company cruising, where two couples can share the boat while each maintaining their own space.
