Aquila officially unveils the new Aquila 50 Yacht, a state-of-the-art cruising catamaran. The world’s leading manufacturer of motor catamarans puts Europe in its sights. To win over the Old Continent’s public, it is not enough to build solid, quality and practical hulls. The eye wants its share and, in the Mediterranean, that is as true as ever. The Aquila 50 Yacht, in fact, is heir to the Aquila 48, a discontinued model, and fills the space between the Aquila 44 Yacht e the Aquila 54 Yacht. As demonstrated with theAquila 42 Yacht, the focus has also clearly shifted to the aesthetic component without, however, causing the shipyard to lose those “usability” skills that have enabled it to become a giant in motor multihulls.
Aquila 50
So here is Aquila 50. The data tell us of a 15.9-meter long multihull with a 7.76-meter beam with a basic layout of three cabins and three bathrooms. Optionally you can go up to four and four plus a sailor cabin. To move it are two 480-horsepower Volvo Penta D6 engines with which it should reach a cruising speed of 18-19 knots. The new aesthetic, named “Explorer,” points to a high freeboard, plenty of space outside, both on deck and on the flybridge, and interiors that will follow closely given the significant volumes the line conveys. An interesting element of these catamarans (Aquila) is also that they can be equipped with a central foil, the Aquila Hydro Glide Foil System (AHG) that is compatible with the 550HP Yanmar engine system.
The Aquila 50 Yacht’s hard roof design is optimized for integration with solar panels. In addition, the engine rooms are configured to support standard combustion engines or an environmentally friendly hybrid engine package.
Extra-large volumes
The focus of this motor boat is definitely in the interior spaces that have truly amazing dimensions. The name explorer, precisely, refers to the fact that this motor catamaran is designed for long periods on board. This is despite the fact that the dimensions are all in all small (15 meters). The beam helps and also allows the owner’s cabin, in the three-cabin, three-bathroom layout, to be full beam. For more information email here or click here
