Project

The new Aquila 50, thus, will first of all see an aesthetic more set toward the world of “explorers,” with high free edges, more “aggressive” lines, and more usable exteriors in different weather conditions.

In terms of design solutions, the high forward freeboard, descending from the mid-hull and towards the stern, not only provides greater protection and shelter in formed seas, but also implies greater interior volumes. In fact, the forward deck, placed at the same height as the upper broadside, thus gives additional space and height to the interior, providing space for a full-beam master cabin below the sundeck, just beyond the large salon located on the main deck.

In the stern, on the other hand, in addition to the swim platforms there is a mobile tender lift, followed then by the furnished cockpit, well protected by the upper top and the depth of the uprights and bulwarks, thus making it a pleasant environment even while sailing or in less than ideal weather conditions. The presence of the fly, further, provides versatile open spaces, protected either by the hard top or by an extra bimini directly integrated into it. Here, in addition to the external wheelhouse, a convivial area and a second sundeck take their place.

As for the interior, however, in addition to the large salon with kitchen, depending on the version, there will be an additional 2 or 3 cabins over the master, including a crew cabin as an extra.

The toilet rooms, in this case, reflect the number of cabins on board.

Motorization and Performance

Coming to the numbers, the engine room of the new Aquila 50 will offer a standard powertrain consisting of two Volvo Penta D6 engines of 480 horsepower each. To serve them, 1,600 liters of tank. In terms of performance, however, there are 22 knots of maximum speed attainable, with regimes of 18/19 knots, on the other hand, given as cruising speed. Numbers that, on balance, befit the cruiser role this catamaran is going to play.
