Among the most anticipated boats in 2025 is definitely the new Aquila 50 Yacht, the latest from one of the world’s leading shipyards in the production of motor multihulls. What’s so special about it? It represents the next generation of Aquila Powerboats and combines the livability and usability for which these catamarans are famous with a more attractive and modern design called ‘Explorer’ that features a high freeboard, markedly different from the previous generation.

Is that all? Absolutely not. Let’s look at the secrets of this new Eagle.

Aquila 50 Yacht

When a catamaran is said to have much larger boat volumes (monohull) it still comes hard to think that a 16-meter by 7.76-meter can have a 30-meter superyacht owner. The Aquila 50, however, comes very close. How is this possible? Usually Cats have cabins on both hulls: very long, but all in all quite narrow. The 50 Yacht, on the other hand, is outside the box because in the standard 3-cabin, 3-bathroom version, it has the full-beam master suite, almost eight meters, on one level, as seen in the layout below.

How is this possible? The high freeboard makes it possible to go up and have a bulky boat that, however, with clever design features-windows and a broadside that descends towards the stern-slims the profile. A solution, this one, that has largely won over the American market as evidenced by the fact that 10 examples have already been sold since the launch at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

From 3 to 5 cabins in 16 meters

If the standard version is not for you, you can upgrade to the four-cabin with three bathrooms with a sailor’s room or fourth bathroom. There is, then, the possibility of having as many as five, of cabins, with four bathrooms. The volumes, regardless of the “extreme” owner’s room are still very interesting. The technical solutions also: for example, the guest cabins have beds facing the sea at the windows to have the sea always in front as already experienced on the Aquila 70 Yacht.

Another interesting space is the fly and the exteriors in general, which are very versatile and have lots of surface area so that everyone can enjoy their privacy on board even when there are many guests. For motorization, the shipyard installs two Volvo Penta D6 turbodiesels of 480 hp each or two Yanmar 550 hp each for 22 knots maximum speed and 18-19 knots cruising speed.

Where to try this catamaran in Italy

After making its European debut in 2025 in France (La Grande-Motte) during the International Multihull Boat Show, this four-cabin version catamaran will summer in Sardinia. Italian dealer FC-Yacht, a company of the Free Charter group in Cagliari, Italy, will have her available for charter and visits by potential owners at the marina in Cannigione, Costa Smeralda. It will then be on display at the Cannes Yachting Festival 20 25 (Sept. 9-14, 2025).

Do you want to buy this catamaran? Here’s how you can do it

Becoming an owner of a catamaran like Aquila also offers attractive options for purchase and management. In this sense, Free Charter offers several purchasing solutions to its clients that can make the choice easier. Of course, it also depends on your needs and type of use. Let’s see how you can do it.

  • Rent-to-Buy formula: 20-30% down payment and monthly fee to use the Aquila 50 Yacht for ten weeks per year, with option to purchase after seven years. Free Charter handles rental and maintenance fees. During the periods when the boat is available, it will be Free Charter’s responsibility to rent it so that mooring, maintenance, and insurance expenses are also covered.
  • Guaranteed Yield: required 45% of purchase price, balance of 15-20% after four years. Boat availability for four weeks in the first four years (mid and high season) and unlimited from October 15 to April 15. Management costs to be borne by Free Charter. The goal is to decrease initial costs and leave the owner worry-free about management and maintenance while having the boat available for a significant amount of time.
  • Try-to-Buy: another interesting formula is to rent the boat with a discount on the final purchase price of the amount spent to rent, allowing you to test the model in practice before deciding. Available in Sardinia and Greece.
