The abundant boat that won a world championship
Not all hulls are born to win. Then all it takes is magic to turn a boat abandoned in a field into a world champion. This is the story of the Jolly Drive told by Maurizio Bulleri, journalist and TV

When looking for a boat nowadays most of the time you read in the brochures that it is “full custom”. But how is a boat completely modifiable? We saw it on board the Astondoa 66 Flybridge, in a renewed version without any bar on the 10-metre window, which makes the saloon even brighter and the line more clean.
If there are no structural limits, a shipowner can have as much fun as he wants to changing the layout of the boat, according to his own needs. An example? Well, a walk-in closet that is not needed can be transformed into a full-beam bathroom to feel at home. On an organizational level, the shipyard succeeds in this because everything is “home made”. From carpentry to design, everything is done in-house.
On board
Going on board you immediately feel wide both in the cockpit and in the living room which is accessed through a window door, which divides the two sections. The light enters through the large arched windows of the superstructure that also ensure good visibility, since at the bow, after refrigerator, refrigerator and the rest of the kitchen we find one of the helm of the boat.
.
Immediately to the left of the wheelhouse are the stairs that lead below deck where we find looking aft, in the middle of the boat, the full-beam master cabin with private bathroom, walk-in closet. In addition to the owner’s cabin you can have three other cabins, each with its own private bathroom. The VIP is in the classic position of the bow.
On deck
In the stern there is a small table with a sofa and a beach platform with a tender garage. At the bow, the sunbathing area with a sofa behind it creates an area for every moment. Attention was also given to the walkways from side to side of the boat, large and safe.
On the flybridge and in navigation
Although the size of this yacht is already demanding, it is designed for owners who like to steer the boat with their own hands, spending a lot of time at the helm. And what better position than on the flybridge to which, as we have said for the rest of the boat, the owner can give his “interpretation”. And from here we helmed this yacht, in the calm waters in front of Cannes, where there were also some treacherous waves, caused by other full-throttle boats.
