For “adventure boats” saga debuts new generation Axopar tailor-made for Evoy’s electric outboards. It is called AX/E and ranges from the 22- to the 25-foot Axopar. The former has the Breeze installed on board, which is the outboard from 120 horsepower from Evoy, while on the Axopar 25 is mounted the 300-horsepower Storm, the most powerful electric outboard in the world..
Electric boats according to Axopar
In the world of electric outboard motors, 300 horsepower is an achievement within the reach of few manufacturers. Already the 120hp, i.e., the Breeze, is a power of a small circle of manufacturers. After all, Evoy has stated on several occasions that it wants to focus on the range of more powerful (inboard or outboard) 100% electric engines. Today these engines will be installed in two Axopar models, precisely the Axopar 22 and Axopar 25, thus giving rise to an all-dedicated range: the AX/E.
Axopar has been in close cooperation with Evoy for some time, and as the Finnish brand is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of recreational hulls, it is clear that it intends to take electric propulsion into serial production.
AX/E 22 – AX/E 25: the new electric Axopar
Evoy presented two power options for the AX/E series:
- AX/E 22 mounts Evoy’s 120-plus-hp Outboard Breeze engine system and with a 63-kWh battery pack for a maximum speed of 36 knots with a range of more than 50 nautical miles on a single charge at slow speeds for day trips along the coast. The 63 kWh battery system has been identified as the best compromise between optimal energy charge and rapid recharging.
- AX/E 25: We go up in size and find the Storm’s 300-plus electric horsepower, with a twin 126 kWh battery pack. This combination pushes the boat to a top speed of 50 knots. At slower speeds it reaches a 60-nautical-mile range.
