When thinking about a family car, imagination immediately goes to minivans that, despite their beauty, are never sporty. When, instead, Azimut decided to design a family boat, it totally upset this thought. The Atlantis 45 is a clear proof of this: a dynamic, agile and sporty coupe with abundant spaces within a length of 14.60 meters. Atlantis is the sport cruiser range of the Avigliana-based shipyard, in the province of Turin, Italy, and after the great success of the Atlantis 43 (140 units sold in 4 years), it is enlarged with the new 45.

Lines are the distinctive ones of the previous models, including a vertical bow and a pronounced chine. Hull windows are another important feature in the design of the 45 and replicate the traditional philosophy of Azimut models. Interiors are flooded with a great amount of natural light thanks to the windows that also contribute to making the hull lines sleeker. All spaces below deck benefit from this solution. Guests can enjoy a spectacular view of the sea from both the double cabin – which can be become a triple cabin amidships – in the dinette and the fore master cabin. Below deck, volumes are remarkable thanks to a maximum beam of 4.25 meters
ON DECK
The dinette houses a large galley positioned opposite the living zone and equipped with a full-height refrigerator and many storage compartments. The storage capacity of this boat is extraordinary: 8000 liters, according to the information provided by the shipyard. The Atlantis 45 is, therefore, a perfect sporty family cruiser. Dyna- mic but with a very strong personality. Passengers can climb on board from the passage positioned on the port side and enjoy a large sunbathing platform in the stern. Circulation on board is excellent, with both the main and the flush deck positioned on the same level. In the stern, the bathing platform is submersible and can accommodate a tender. The latter, however, can also be accommodated in a specific tender garage, where there is enough room to house additional water toys or diving equipment. The cockpit with the helm station is efficiently protected by an opening hard top for 70% of its length. This area is cleverly arranged with the helm station positioned on the port side and opposite the modular chaise longue on the starboard side. The two adjustable and ergonomic pilot seats make the driving experience a piece of cake. Moreover, the large windscreen offers an excellent view and every instrument in the console is easy to reach. The model we tested was equipped with Garmin electronic devices that perfectly integrated into the console thanks to their minimal design.
TO SEA
With twin Volvo D4 IPS 600 435HO engines and 430 liters of fuel – almost the half of the overall capacity (980 liters) – we reached a top speed of 35 knots at 3,600 rpm. During our test, the sea was flat and not even our sudden turns compromised the total stability of the boat. We felt like we were driving a stable responsive 4×4 car. We got the boat on plane at 10 knots and 1,900 rpm. Our passengers felt always comfortable, sitting in the L-shaped sofa of the cockpit or in the large fore sun pad. In short, the Atlantis 45 is the ideal boat for all those who, experienced or not, desire to have a safe performing boat.
