Azimut Charter Club is born: the models of the
world’s largest yacht manufacturer
at the click of a mouse. How is this different from a traditional charter? And why did Azimut decide to invest in this sector?
Azimut Charter Club
The way of boating changes every year, the habits are different as are the boaters. Today we see a new generation entering the market that has a different lifestyle than in the past. If for baby-boomers the boat was (and is) a status symbol, millennials, on the other hand, have in most cases a large number of hobbies. Cruising on a boat, then, is only one part of the whole, and buying a 15- to 20-meter yacht is definitely a major expense.
The last few years, then, have brought thousands of “neophytes” closer to the world of yachting. Chartering is undoubtedly a tool capable of attracting newcomers and getting them to approach boating by offering valuable help in taking their first steps.
This extreme summary, which claims to be neither exhaustive nor universal, is the basis for trying to understand why the largest yacht manufacturer invests in chartering. The reason? To offer the highest possible standard of chartering in order to bring new potential owners closer to the Azimut world, without intermediaries, and with an expense that is contained, or rather, limited to the week(s) of chartering.
From another perspective, it is also a way to enjoy all the beauty of a premium motor yacht without the “stress” of ownership. The advantages are clear: you get yachts with up to five years of ownership by owners or clients of the yard. A dedicated portal allows users to independently book the yacht and destination, or use a digital concierge to help with booking, legal and administrative aspects. A selected Azimut dealer will then take care of check-in and check-out activities.
Azimut Charter Club: the boats available
The service is active as of today, and five vessels located in Croatia are already available on the portal. It will not be possible to do a charter without a captain, but the booking fees include most of the expenses.
Azimut’s range
The boats featured are all yachts in the shipyard’s Flybridge range and range from 55 to 78 feet, or 16 to 24 meters. The company, however, has already promised new models and additional destinations ahead of the summer. Additional models as well as destination alternatives will be added soon, for a summer to be spent with family and friends in unique locations and aboard yachts born to elicit extraordinary emotions.
