Capturing attention at the FLIBS 2023 there were not only pure Americans, but Italian yachts also had their say. The new Azimut Verve 48, among others, best represents the Avigliana shipyard’s ability to adapt to its target markets.
Azimut Verve 48
In just three years the
Verve 47
, the progenitor of the range, has sold 110 units in the US. The Azimut outboard, therefore, proves to be a quality product capable of combining performance and speed. Let’s see what it looks like.
Deck and Cabins
Verve 48 is a new sport weekender created in collaboration with Francesco Struglia. The shipyard thus brings several updates to the range, starting with a new look to exteriors and interiors, including the entire aft area, which has been completely renovated and is much larger than previous models. At the stern, a new folding broadside faces the L-shaped sofa placed to port, creating a large terrace overlooking the sea. Added to this are two ladders for easy descent into the water and, to the left, a platform for bathing. Thus we have one particularly large aft section.
We were talking about weekender and here we find a cockpit that can accommodate as many as 12 guests during the day divided between a lounging area with a convertible table or, as per U.S. requirements, an open-air party area complete with speakers, barbecue and ice maker. To wit, there are lockers that can accommodate and keep food and drinks cool with a capacity of 50 and 100 liters.
Also new is the hardtop, which is sleeker and more enveloping, complete with tempered glass inserts that promote light and air circulation.
Below deck we find large volumes com materials that repurpose wood in an extremely technological context. The general configuration is with two sleeping cabins where the master cabin is located in the bow and a second aft cabin with two double beds.
The dinette-kitchen, located amidships full-beam, is designed to provide a space to relax with a three-seat L-shaped sofa that can be easily converted into a double bed, a table with a fixed stainless steel base, and a wine cooler upon request.
Engines and Speed
Turning instead to motorization, the Verve 48 will be powered by three 600-horsepower Mercury V12s for top speeds of 50 knots. The hull, designed by Micheal Peters, is the
Stepped ‘V’ Ventilated Tunnel (SVVT)
, designed to combine comfort and performance.
