With the new year just around the corner, immediately introduced to the highly anticipated German trade show, Boot Düsseldorf (Jan. 20-28), it becomes difficult not to talk about what’s new on the horizon, especially when it comes to a Wallypower. Wally, in fact, will present its new boat to the world right at the German Kermesse, where the new Wallypower 50 will be unveiled, a versatile and elegant 14.6-meter weekender , fast 36 knots and as stylish as any Wallypower has revealed us to be.
Wallypower 50: world debut at Boot 2024
The evolution of the species. This is the statement with which Wally introduces us to its new Wallypower 50, an evolution that looks at both the previous 52 and the Wallytender series, becoming a versatile hull that can be used in any context, tender, weekender or chase-boat. The lines are clean, bold, the volumes elegant, designed by sharp cuts and edges for a sporty allure in which the glass and carbon hard top also participates. As expected, there will also be no shortage of on-board comfort, aided by the double berths below deck, fold-down broadside and various lounge areas that the 50 will boast. Waiting for the worldwide release, meanwhile, let’s see what we know in preview.
Exterior
Hydraulic retractable swim ladder, large beach area, and two double sundecks in the cockpit, for a beam of as much as 6 meters with lowered broadside. So welcomes aboard Wally’s new 50, with a first bathroom and relaxation area not to be underestimated.
Just beyond, under the hard top and thus sheltered from the elements, the cockpit then comes to life, with double sofas facing the center of the boat. An expandable table serves the left, L-shaped sofa, with the short side placed behind the two ergonomic seats serving the dashboard. Opposite, the other sofa, instead, flanks the outdoor bar cabinet, complete with sink. Optionally, four bench seats facing toward the bow can be implemented, adding to the 8 seats already present.
Just beyond, offset to the right of the boat center, is the access to the interior spaces. It is from the cockpit, however, that the forward lounge is reached, skirting the cabin on one of two symmetrical walkways of your choice. Upon reaching the bow, one is thus greeted by an entire lounge area that engages the entire width of the hull.
Wallypower 50 – Interior
Moving attention below deck, the volumes first include a double forward cabin, a full bathroom and an antechamber area just inside. All furnished in elegant terms and with attention to detail, making the interior open space volume as usable as possible.
Propulsion and performance
Looking at the performance and engine front, propulsion comes from a pair of Volvo Penta IPS 650s, equivalent to a power output of 480 horsepower per engine. The resulting results are speeds of about 30 knots for cruising, with 36 knots, on the other hand, as the top speed. Finally, to simplify maneuvering and mooring, the 50 will be equipped with a joystick.
