We tested the flagship model of Beneteau’s new generation of Gran Turismo yachts. These are modern boats, designed to sail well and, above all, to be comfortable. Here’s how it went.

The Beneteau Gran Turismo 50 is the new flagship of the French shipyard’s revamped coupe lineup: 15.95 meters long and 4.48 meters wide, it is a sport cruiser designed to combine two qualities that are often difficult to reconcile: the speed (but not excessive) of a boat built to cover miles and the relaxed comfort of a blissful retreat to enjoy while at anchor, between the cockpit, sundeck, and bright interior.

Beneteau Gran Turismo 50 – How it’s made

The project bears the signature of Dixon Yacht Design for the waterlines and Andreani Design for the styling. The result is a muscular, modern profile, with a flowing main deck connecting the living areas to the protected helm station.

On board, Beneteau emphasizes a clear concept: adaptability. While underway, the layout prioritizes safety and functionality; at anchor, it transforms into a seaside villa. Below deck, there are three cabins, and the GT 50 features generous spaces and plenty of natural light.

The partnership with the automaker Alpine is significant; the collaboration went beyond a simple co-marketing agreement, as Alpine also played a role in defining the design.
