As 2020 draws to a close, we have decided to reminisce on these last days of the year about all the most interesting news from 2020. It is snowing in much of Italy today, but let’s go back for a moment to the end of July, with the very long days and warm wind that seems so far away today. About five months ago, one of the most famous boats in the motoring world was being auctioned off: Gianni Agnelli’s G. Cinquanta, custom-designed by one of the greatest hull geniuses-Renato “Sonny” Levi .
Best 2020 – The G. Fifty sold for 450 thousand euros
If the news of the sale of this unique hull alone could have made headlines, what further resonated was the price. In fact, the boat was auctioned at an amount that we would say is unbelievable for an 11-meter boat: 450 thousand euros. Read the article about the G. Fifty auction here.
The auction house that conducted the transaction is the famous Sotheby’s. Not much is known about the new owner of this 50-knot bolide, forerunner of many trends we see prevalent in the boating world today.
