Here are the accessories for safe cruising even when you are alone.
An all-new range from Simrad for onboard chartplotters. They are called Cruise and are available in 5.7- and 9-inch sizes. Also interesting is the price, which starts from 390€ up to 668€. A simple and intuitive instrument without Ethernet connection and NMEA2000, it ranks among the entry level, even for those who are just beginning to become familiar with it on board. Can be supplied with NMNavonics or C-Map cartography.
Also included with the chartplotter is the Chirp sonar transducer with automatic depth sensing: an instrument that is therefore simple and ready to use and, thanks to its IPX7 waterproofing, finds the perfect fit even in open boats or dinghies.
Dometic – plb40
Here is the new portable battery that solves all emergencies. Powerful, with lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) battery cells, it delivers 512 Wh of energy, 40 Ah, enough to power a large portable refrigerator for 40 hours. Charging is trivalent: 12 V outlet, solar panel or AC grid.
The display provides information on battery capacity, charge/discharge status, and power, and is equipped with USB sockets. It weighs only 7 kg and costs about €750.
Schenker – Zen
In the year of its 20th birthday, Schenker celebrates the success of Zen a very compact watermaker with great qualities. The machines use the patented “Energy Recovery System” device, which amplifies the pressure of normal low-pressure pumps and recovers hydraulic energy back from the membranes, enabling a reduction in power consumption of up to 80 percent.
The fishfinder becomes ULTRA
Garmin’s new multifunction fishfinder series, the Echomap Ultra, is born. Available with 10- and 12-inch touchscreen display and keyboard. Richly equipped with integrated 600 W Chirp sounder module, the ClearVü function that returns extremely sharp and detailed images, and of SideVü technology, useful for seeing to the sides of the boat.
In short, the ultimate in fishing technology. Incidentally, the Ultra series is also compatible with Panoptix transducers, including the new single-frequency LiveScopeTM LVS12. MFPs are of course compatible with BlueChart cartography with Navionics data taking advantage of all its qualities and functions. The price is ha ha from 1,999€.
