It is becoming increasingly important, even aboard smaller boats and yachts, to pay attention to details and furniture, especially in the interiors. This is because boats are now experienced very much at anchor, and having a comfortable environment where you can spend quality time on board is a fundamental part of the boating experience. In Italy we have probably the most important and recognized companies in the world in this regard, one of them being Quick. Thanks to collaboration with professionals such as the studio of Aldo Parisotto and Massimo Formenton, Quick was awarded an Honorable Mention at the 2024 Compasso d’Oro of ADI (Association for Industrial Design).
The Lights of the Arcipelago Capsule Collection
Receiving honorable mention was the Arcipelago Capsule Collection, designed and signed by the Italian firm Parisotto + Formenton Architetti, and included within the Quick Marine Lighting catalog. Within the collection, inspired by nautical suggestions, we find lamps and light points of different types designed forinterior lighting, all sharing a very contemporary design and essential forms.
The Arcipelago includes three families designed for interiors, from recessed “spotlights” (downlights) to wall and reading lamps, all with great attention to detail. They have an essential design that at times recalls that of traditional marine lamps and lanterns, but re-proposed with minimal volumes and in a contemporary key. The desire of the studio and the brand is to further expand the collection with luminaires with sharp, clean lines.
Parisotto + Formenton and Quick’s work with the Arcipelago Capsule Collection earned Honorable Mention at one of the most important awards dedicated to Italian design: the ADI Compasso d’Oro. The award was presented during the 28thᵃ edition of the Compasso d’Oro (and on the occasion of ADI’s 70th anniversary) at the ADI Design Museum in Milan.
