We are presenting to you, day by day, the best ports in Italy in which to stop with your boat. Today we are telling you about Marinedi, a network of marinas established to better meet the needs of boaters.
Marinedi – The network created to develop nautical tourism
Nautical tourism in Italy has finally gotten back on its feet after a period of crisis exacerbated by the unfortunate fiscal measures that affected the sector, demonstrating development potential at every level: shipbuilding production, services, induced industries. The road of innovation and services also affects marinas, which are changing, increasingly closer to the world of hotelerie, so much so that today the difference between a marina and a Marina Resort is very real.
In this context, Marinedi, the first network of marinas (in English) was born, uniting a world of sailors, Italians and foreigners, with a single passion for the sea, the sun, a clean environment, the beauty of the coasts and local traditions. There is now a very important transformation, which is changing the criteria of hospitality and service to boaters.
For Marinedi, this transformation has been underway for a few years now, since the international boating world began dictating the new rules to create a single standard of quality. Thus Marinedi has begun a redevelopment of basic functionality and “concierge” services that can create a closer relationship dedicated to the needs of boaters.
It started with upgrading basic services to broaden the offerings to include those activities that meet new needs: as climate change is becoming a serious discriminator it can happen that even in the middle of summer there are bad weather days.
A few years ago, arranging an alternative program at the last minute was difficult. Today, however, marina secretariats offer this service by connecting the port to the territory effectively. The port becomes a gateway to the territory by bringing forward an integration that has been underestimated because it is not offered in an accessible and “inviting” way.
In order to explore environmental, cultural and food and wine beauties, and to move in a wide radius outside the marina, so-called “Green Islands” are being created where boaters can find electric vehicles of all kinds to move around in a convenient and above all environmentally friendly way. As of today, Marinedi is then a leading national player in the management of marinas: there are already 14 of them between the Tyrrhenian, Adriatic and Ionian seas, and the plan is to increase to 25.
