The license changes and the new boating license quiz with updated charting problems goes into effect. This is because the new questions and charting problems (including a new deviation table) have been approved. Due to some errors, the national list of questions for the conduct of the written tests for boating licenses has been updated (dated May 31, 2022). To download them just go to the bottom of this page.
After the new quizzes were approved and the updated paperwork problems, the three months were triggered for them to go into effect. This is the standard technical time that must pass from the publication in the Official Gazette on 12/02/2022 of the Executive Decree containing the Quizzes (number 10 of 25/01/2022). It will therefore be three months to study the new applications.
In a previous article (read here) we told you about many new features related to the examination mode and the content of the new quizzes. Confindustria Nautica stresses that this update is an important modernization of examination methods. The new questions “draw a modern knowledge set, less focused on theoretical knowledge and more on practical navigation.” The new questions are “supported by graphic images” and focus on “mooring and unmooring operations, how to deal with waves in motorboating in bad weather, maneuvering, navigating crowded bays, and entering and leaving ports.”
There will also be “questions about non-mandatory but recommended safety equipment and environmental protection and navigation in Marine Protected Areas.” Engine quizzes have been updated, but most importantly, “removed many questions that are now obsolete or nomenclatures that are in disuse in boating.”
