More and more toward “Tesla”-type consoles, where everything is integrated, touch and at your fingertips. Navico (the large electronics giant that groups the Simrad, B&G and Lowrance brands in addition to C-Map) has launched a new range of electronic devices for boating: the Information Displays (IDs).

Boating like the Tesla with Navico

ID MFPs combine a clean design with a customizable interface that simplifies monitoring and control of on-board systems, with a user experience designed down to the smallest detail.

In addition to offering access to all the most important information, the ID software offers a set of predefined modes–based on the analysis of real navigation experiences–that allow you to view all the data useful for the type of navigation you are currently facing. Default modes include System Checks, Cruising, Anchoring and Water Sports. In addition, it is possible to configure one’s own customized mode based on the requirements of the shipyard, the type of boat and the type of use of the owner e.g. cruising, sport fishing, sailing and more.

The Information Displays are equipped with a bonded glass screen
and a powerful Integration Hub and will be offered in the market along with a wide selection of Lowrance, Simrad and B&G electronic equipment. Each system consists of one or more displays, which are linked together to function as a single integrated system.

The Integration Hub uses Ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and has Sonar, USB, CAN and NMEA 2000 ports for connection to all on-board systems. This innovative display technology, together with the installation of the Integration Hub, will greatly simplify the upgrade process in the case of upgrades, which is currently a complex task for standard electronic equipment. All of this assures yards of display compatibility across multiple model/production years, as well as providing a simplified upgrade mode for owners.

Lowrance, Simrad and B&G Information Displays will make their market debut in 2019, along with the launch of boat models made by the world’s leading shipyards. For more information, www.navico.com.
