Italy consolidates one of its landmarks for boating and yachting, Sardinia. The occasion to affirm that Italy’s second-largest island is a paradise for boaters, year-round and not only during the summer, was the first edition of the Nautical Fair of Sardinia held in Olbia April 22-26.
We have been among the docks with more than 50 booths and the dozens of boats in the water in the Marina of Olbia, a landmark city for northern Sardinian nautical tourism. Here is a selection of what intrigued us most at the Sardinia Boat Fair.
Inflatables at the Sardinia Boat Fair
In Olbia, SNO is a one-stop shop combining shipyard, sales, charter and every service for boating. On the dock presented the Novamarine inflatable boat range of the
Black Shiver Line
icon of the sporty, comfortable and stylish inflatable boat that has a range of 9 models from 9 meters to 22 meters with outboard, inboard and jet propulsion.
Still on the topic of inflatable boats, we liked the models from Sarda.
Sea Water
, which presented three models from 7.50 to 10 meters. Sea Waters combine the tradition of seamanship, attention to detail, and absence of superstructure with contemporary performance and design.
There was, of course, no shortage in the space reserved for inflatable boats SACS Marine which displayed the most iconic models of the two ranges Strider and Rebel.
Also based in Olbia is the interesting G-Tender shipyard, which displayed two models, the G-Tender Otto.7 and Dieci 4. Like a sea spider the G-Tender Eight 7, 8.7 meters long with a maximum outboard horsepower of 600, has the advantage of being customizable, as does the G-Tender Ten 4. The latter, 14 meters long, is equipped with outboards with a maximum power output of 1,350 hp, among the best in its class in terms of performance and fittings.
For Nautica Levante Olbia two best sellers from the historic Lombard manufacturer Nuova Jolly, the open Prince 24, (m. 7.50 – max power 250 hp fb) and
Prince 27
(m. 8.45 – max power 350 hp fb).
Highfield imported by NSS Yachting was the gem of the show. They are inflatable boats with the characteristic of having aluminum hulls instead of fiberglass, with four ranges and infinite models ranging from 2.4 to 8.6 meters. Low weight, high performance, great strength and a hull that can cope with any sea conditions. Perfect for summer sailing the
highfield sports range
with 12 models from 3.10 to 9.12 meters.
Previewed at the Molo 66 booth in Poltu Quatu were renderings of the new TS Rib R-4 model from the
Seanfinity shipyard
which has a range of four fine models from 40 to 50 feet . The new super dinghy TS Rib R-4 is m long. 13.24 equipped with a cabin can be equipped with both inboard and outboard motors with a maximum power of 1,100 hp.
The 4 boats at the Sardinia Fair
Undoubtedly the most innovative boat present in Olbia was the Superbia 28 (read the article here, an 8.50-meter boat built by the new Occhilupo Yacht&Carbon shipyard. Highly elegant, with futuristic vant-retro lines and innovative solutions that make it uniquely livable above and below deck,
Superbia 28
, is made entirely of carbon fibers, just like a Formula 1 car.
Of interest at the Pier 66 brokerage is the day cruiser Aqa 38 X, m. long. 12.50 with maximum power of 400 hp inboard. The truly extra-large cockpit and aft sundeck deserve a mention.
Emerald Yacht
, an all-round reality of Olbia boating, presented the Solaris Power range with the new 40 open and all range 44 open, 48 open – lobster – fly, 57 open and fly and the designs of the next 60.
Also standing out on the dock was Mig Marine ‘s Mig 45 , which is an apt contemporary evolution of the classic Italian-style speedboat.
Accessories and services at the Olbia Fair
Chartering a boat in Sardinia is one of the most popular destinations for vacations by sea.
NSS Charter
presented its models from the Beneteau (monohulls) and Lagoon (catamarans) ranges. The other major Sardinian entity also,
ProSail – Group Y
, presented its range of Dufour shipyard and motor models.
The port realities could not be missed with the Olbia Marina hosting the review. Also present are the super-ecological marina of
Sardinian Cove
, the
Port of Alghero Consortium
and the
Marina of sant’Elmo
.
In terms of accessories, the presence of stood out.
Saim
, one of the big names in motor accessories for all types of boats. It also previewed new products, azimuth pods and thrusters, from the
Hydromaster
.
Also unveiled during the Sardinian Boat Fair was the arrival of the legendary Valdettaro refit yard, which from September will have a location in Olbia with a facility to accommodate medium- and large-sized boats over 40 meters and under 60.
