It\’s summer and sea time and there is a kind of boat that is extremely popular at the moment. Open, walk-around or even cabin boats, but not only. Some call them adventure boats and they echo the \”Scandinavian\” design that has made Axopar\’s success and more. And rightly so. Relatively small, agile and undoubtedly funny, these boats provide enviable experiences in complete safety, but they are also comfortable.

For anyone who already has a boat but wants more, for those scouring the market for a worthwhile purchase, or for those just dreaming, here are eight adventure boats of 2022 on which to fantasise on hot summer days.
Brabus Shadow 300
For powerboats enthusiasts, let\’s start with the stunning Brabus Shadow 300 Edition One. Agile and luxurious, powered by a 300-horsepower Mercury Racing V8, this 25-footer can reach the incredible speed of 50 knots. What\’s more, the boat is transportable: unique in its class and size range.
In the helm station, everything is optimized to make navigation as pleasant and safe as possible, with controls integrated into multifunction Simrad display, or in the new integrated Smart-plotter, completely customized for the model. Options include wireless chargers, JL speakers, and seats in full Racing style.
All in all, an impressive boat (8m), and one that is bound to get noticed by fans of the genre: high-performance, aggressive, and comfortable where it needs to be, it will undoubtedly be a welcome change in the summer of those who will have the chance to get on board.
Quarken 27 Open
A new 8-metre addition from Finnish Quarken Boats, the Quarken 27 could not fail to be on this list. Of course, as is now standard in the segment, it is available in 3 versions: Pure Open, T-Top with a solid fibreglass roof and Cabin for all seasons.
Highly customisable it offers options for all needs, and features a forward cabin with double berth that can be further customized. The optional Weekend package also includes an electric toilet, fresh water, shore power and a stern shower. An ideal option for those looking for a versatile boat that is also suitable for longer cruises.
A double-stepped hull and excellent weight distribution round off the package, perfectly matched to the Yamaha V6 outboard engine. All in all, 300 horsepower that promises peaks of 43/45 knots. In a nutshell, a very complete boat suitable for every need.
Ryck 280
A powerboat for performance enthusiasts? A versatile craft capable of entertaining, sunbathing, and even sleeping out on a weekend? In just 9.5 metres, the Ryck 280 grants all this.
A forward sundeck, handrails and high sides, a stepless cockpit and an L-shaped, reclining aft settee… this is the list of comforts and safety that German company Ryck has dedicated to this 28-footer. To which, of course, must be added the below-deck cabin and all the optional comforts provided. But don\’t forget about performance, because the double-stepped hull and Mercury outboard (from 250 to 350 hp) promise excellent performance.
Axopar 25
For anyone looking for something more than an open boat, Axopar has the solution. It\’s called the Axopar 25 and, available in Cross Top and Cross Bow versions, it brings together those who want a hybrid of compact size, cabin and performance.
With its unmistakable, slim and long silhouette (2.23m beam), the Axopar 25 is a boat that lends itself well to any weather, thanks to a double-step hull capable of guaranteeing excellent performance. Attention to comfort is undoubtedly not lacking. And in fact, despite the sporty profile, we find on board a comfortable double cabin, a large full-width forward sundeck and several optional extras that allow for excellent customisation.
All in all, a very well thought-out 25 footer with all the potential to give satisfaction.
Windy SR 28CC
World premiered in Fort Lauderdale in the USA, the Windy SR28 CC immediately intrigued the small boat market. And to good effect. Entirely designed and engineered by the Windy Design Department, this boat (8m) declares itself as a clearly high-performance open with an absolutely classic style, in the most positive sense of the term.
Powered by between 300 and 425 HP, combined with remarkable waterlines, the Windy SR28 CC should fully satisfy all those in search of rather interesting speeds, taking this boat up to 40/46 knots. Without considering that we find below deck that same attention to detail that characterises the exterior. A clean, pleasing design that sacrifices nothing.
An excellent cocktail for good doses of fun or even pleasant sailing in complete tranquillity.
Nimbus T8
An 8-metre open boat that is multifunctional, well equipped, fast and suitable for both sport and a weekend at sea? In two words, the Nimbus T8.
Comfortable, extremely versatile and spacious, but also capable of high speeds, with an average cruising speed of over 20 knots: the Nimbus T8 is the quintessential Scandinavian day-cruiser, with that extra something…
From the T-Top in composite materials to the 3-in-1 modular seating, Swedish Nimbus has created another little gem, an open-cabin (8 m) boat that never ceases to amaze. Developed on an air-lubricated steppe hull, the Nimbus T8 is powered by three possible Mercury engines: the Verado V6, 300 hp; the Verado V8, 250 hp; and the Verado V8, 300 hp. All in all, an excellent combination guaranteeing excellent performance, with cruising speeds between 20 and 30 knots, and top speeds in excess of 40.
XO DFNDR 8
Sturdy, agile and incredibly promising, XO DFNDR 8 is the latest addition from the Finnish brand XO BOATS.
Aluminium for a long and narrow (7.90m x 2.37m) military-inspired hull, deep V-shaped keel, and tubular hard top certainly catch the eye, letting you imagine the performance the boat holds: over 50 knots with the 450 hp V8 engine. But behind such an edgy appearance, aggressive if you like, there is much more, because this 8-metre boat is also mouldable to one\’s needs.
Performing, highly versatile and available in Open Safari and Closed versions, XO DFNDR 8 maximises the versatility of the XO segment, and will debut in September with a starting price of €135,000, excluding VAT

It offers an enclosed bridge with integrated wheelhouse and ample seating space for all, a solution adopted to maximise comfort in adverse marine conditions, but also to favour overall manageability and safety. A cabin maximises below-deck space and offers the possibility of extended outings even at night, while the relatively spacious deck offers different seating and options. Performing and versatile, it offers significant propulsion for its small tonnage (500 hp), an ideal guarantee for easily reaching cruising speeds of 32 knots, and top speeds of 50.
