Can you go boating on Easter and Easter Monday? We received so many emails asking one question, “during the Easter holidays (April 3-4-5), can I go by boat?” The answer is no, and we explain why.
Can I go boating on Easter? No, for three reasons
The first reason is by looking at the newly enacted anti-Covid regulations. It is not possible to move between regions. In fact, all of Italy is red zone. Consequence? If I live in one region and the boat is in another, I cannot reach it.
Second reason. The second reason that reinforces this ban is this: there are seven regions where you cannot go to second homes. And if it is not possible to go to second homes, then it is not possible to go to boats either. This also applies to those who reside in the same region. The bans apply in Valle d’Aosta, Alto Adige, Liguria, Tuscany, Marche, Puglia, Campania and Sardinia. A specific ordinance has not yet been issued in the other regions, but it is very likely to come soon and involve equal limits. Take Sicily as an example: you can enter, but only with a negative swab taken 48 hours before arrival.
Third reason. The Region of Liguria, first in Italy, in its ordinance equates the cabin boat with a second home, making explicit the prohibition on reaching and living in it. So all of this endorses the concept cabin boat = second home that we had already told you about, complete with legal opinion.
