As part of the Mondomarine group, the Cantieri di Pisa had failed in 2017, leaving home the 22 workers who were working at the time of closure. This piece of the history of Italian boating is now saved thanks to the acquisition by the Genoese Sea Finance srl, part of the Monegasque Yotha, a company active in the chartering and storage of luxury yachts.

Cantieri di Pisa, un pezzo di storia della nautica

The birth of this shipyard dates back to 1945, in Limite sull’Arno which lies on the banks of one of the main rivers of Tuscany and is also known for the great tradition of master carpenters,. One of the turning points is the collaboration with Pierluigi Spadolini, father of Tommaso Spadolini, who has been collaborating with the Cantieri di Pisa since the early 1960s, also designing the immortal Akhir line that since the early ’70s is a brand of unmistakable charm in the nautical world and that has been updated over the years, embracing new trends without ever losing his identity.

BARCHE A MOTORE AKHIR

In 2015, following a moment of serious crisis, the first rescue had arrived with the entry into the Mondomarine group, a Ligurian company that had its core business in superyachts. In 2017, just two years later, the failure of the Savona company, had rejected this historical brand in the abyss. Up to the last few days when was paid 2.6 million euros to the liquidator. After the change of ownership, the first objectives of the shipyard, once the operations have been resumed at full capacity, will be the delivery of the boats that are still waiting to be completed under the warehouses. The 22 workers who were working on the site before the 2017 bankruptcy also return to work.

Motor boats: Cantieri di Pisa and Akhir 42s

One of the last projects presented by the shipyard in 2015 was Akhir 42 S, out of pencil by Luca Dini. And this boat is the trait d’union between the first boats designed by Pierluigi Spadolini and the most modern idea that the evolution of design and taste requires. From the working point of view, Dini grew up in the Spadolini design studio immersing himself in the project vision that led to the creation of the Akhir line. This is why the Akhir 42s takes up the essence of this line that has its roots in another era, thus further reinforcing the identity of the range and the yard.
