Coastal Maxy 46 is the latest rib of the Italian shipyard Coastal. We talked about it here when it was still “rendering” in the Rada version, today we see how it is in the water.
In the world, rib owners are becoming more and more demanding. There are those who are looking for the maxi rib to have all the advantages of the inflatable boat with the size of a yacht, those who want a tender for a bigger boat. And then there are those who think of it as a super day cruiser.
Coastal Maxy 46 made by the guru design
Fast, very spacious and with a layout inspired by the Mediterranean Sea. And in fact, it’s a boat made for the Mediterranean lovers, but not only. It was designed by Francesco Guida, one of the great names of Italian design, well-known all over the world. Maxy 46 is an inflatable boat designed for day cruise between the islands, looking for more hidden shallows, but also to have navigation full of emotion in the sea.
In the stern, we can find three different types of motorization: inboard, outboard, and inboard up to 1,400 horsepower. With this power, the Costal Maxy 46 can give a truly adrenaline-filled performance. However, not all the horsepower in the world are enough to make a boat sail well: you need an adequate hull.
The Maxy 46 has a monohedral hull with deep V and load-bearing tubular. In addition, to have a good feeling at the helm, visibility from the driver’s seat has been designed to be one of the strong points.
Maxy 46, a novelty that likes
The Maxy46 attracted a lot of attention at the last Cannes Yachting Festival, where it was presented. One of its strong points is certainly the space on deck. In fact, it is designed for day cruiser use with a walk around a layout that offers two aft and bow areas separated by side passages both with dinette and sundeck. Onboard there is also a cabin with bathroom furnished for the hottest hours of the day.
