Are classic boats making a comeback? Perhaps, the fact remains that a certain kind of 1960s line is finding many admirers. Behold, Codecasa Classic Yacht 110′ F80, big brother of the
24-meter Codecasa
, launched a few months ago.
Codecasa Classic Yacht 110′ F80
Imagine if they “rebuilt” your favorite car now, but with the technology that is available today. All right, in some cases maybe a lot of magic would be lost. We remain, however, on yachting construction techniques. Today it is easier to make a lighter, more maneuverable, more comfortable hull, but embedded in the “timeless” lines that are characteristic of a certain generation of boats.
The new Codecasa Classic Yacht 110′ F80 is a 33.5-meter yacht built by the
Codecasa Shipyards
and designed in terms of naval architecture and design engineering by Francesco Rogantin‘s Names studio. The lines, however, are by Luca Dini Design, both for the interior and exterior. It is constructed entirely of light alloy and has a semi-displacement hull naval architecture. This according to simulations done with CFD (computational fluid dynamics) should allow the boat to reach 22 knots, but also to have 1,200 of range at 12 knots with an 18,000-liter fuel tank. Propelling it are two MANs of 1,550 horsepower each at 2,300 rpm with ZF 2050 gearboxes, combined with a classic axle line as the propulsion system.
From the shipyard, regarding navigation, The hull geometry is angular with a special design for the propeller tunnels.
Equipment also includes 7 kW CMC Marine HSO80 stabilizers, a CMC TP50 bow thruster and two 55 kW EFOFDJ generators, as well as electric trimmers.
Codecasa’s classic cruising yacht
We are talking about a clearly imposing craft, designed for long sailings to be tackled without any particular “hurry.” In fact, the fully loaded displacement is an impressive 153 tons, with the yacht being constructed entirely of light alloy.
On the aesthetic level, however, it is the finishes that are special, with a classic and elegant touch.
“The extensive use of wood finishes also forced a careful study of their combination with the aluminum structure ,” explains Francesco Rogantin . In particular, made of polished mahogany are the frames of all the windows, but the aft door is also entirely covered with wood. Finally, another special feature of Codecasa. Classic Yacht 110′ F80 is the under-deck garage accessed by a large side door; a five-meter-long tender can fit inside.”
