Cranchi Yachts has a new flagship and presents it at the Düsseldorf Boat Show, from 18 to 26 January 2020, the first boat show of the new year.
The new Cranchi Yachts is named Settantotto, which refers to the 78-foot length, but which is written in full and in italian and brings to mind the best expression of Made in Italy.
The lines of the Settantotto are fluid and without marked edges, conveying a natural sense of balance and timeless design. In the choices of Christian Grande – the designer who has worked in close collaboration with the Centro Studi Ricerche del Cantiere – there are no forcing or concessions to temporary fashions. There is, yes, the strength one expects from a flagship. The Settantotto is a yacht that can face the sea in all conditions, with her perfect hull, high and flared bow and pronounced falchetta band leader.
With a skilful interplay of colours between structure and superstructure, the latter is visually lightened. The streamlined outer lines generate astonishment when you discover the spacious rooms and generous volumes of the interior.
The layout includes up to four cabins, all with bathroom: three large doubles and one cabin with single beds.
All beds are positioned longitudinally in relation to the stern/forehead axis to ensure the best comfort during rest.
The full beam owner’s cabin in the middle of the boat with walk-in closet, study corner or beauty corner is a large luxury suite. At bow, the VIP cabin. On the main deck and on the flybridge, the yacht offers large open spaces, in addition to a small beach that can be reached safely and easily. Equipped with a lift that allows her to get up and down and to move forward, the dashboard can become a huge terrace on the sea, thanks to the extraordinary surface granted by the teak-covered garage.
Materials research represents a decisive frontier for improving the quality and sustainability of a yacht. With the construction of the Settantotto Cranchi Yachts has brought the use of carbon fiber, aramid and other hi-tech fibers to a level never achieved before in the pleasure boating sector. Cranchi Yachts has in fact developed a matrix of resins and fibers that was suitable – for directionality and malleability – to the needs of the nautical industry and was able to withstand the type of stresses to which a boat is subjected, thus improving resistance and performance of the hull and other structures and at the same time obtaining lighter artefacts. Weight reduction was one of the objectives methodically sought in the construction of the Settantotto , also favoring less heavy materials such as aluminum.
The engine room houses three in-line six-cylinder Volvo Penta D13 capable of guaranteeing each 1000 HP of power when needed. Together with as many IPS3 pods they form a compact, reliable and manageable solution: ideal for this large yacht.
The Humpree system is also unsurpassed to guarantee stability and ideal trim for the yacht both in navigation and at anchor, with carbon fiber stabilizing fins, blade interceptor and electronic control unit for immediate and effective trim corrections.
