This summer Delta Powerboats will launch its new Delta 72. Originally commissioned by a regular customer, it will officially enter the Swedish shipyard’s range. Once again developed in collaboration with Mannerfelt Design, it too boasts carbon fiber construction, a truly remarkable peculiarity considering its 72-foot length.

Delta 72

The lines are typical Delta ones: angular, geometric, minimalist. A yacht dressed in the elegant but sporty style already successfully adopted on the 48 model, here taken up and adapted to the new dimensions: over 20 meters long by 5.6 wide.

At the stern, a large raised sundeck faces the sea in front of the outdoor dining area, consisting of two reciprocating L-shaped sofas. Entering the salon is through the galley, which occupies the transition between exterior and interior for the entire width of the superstructure. Also particular is the bow sundeck, which is not located on the classic deckhouse, where we find a very wide C-shaped sofa, but in a dedicated island. Finally, on the saloon roof there is no real flybridge but a third sundeck.

Motorization and performance

Future owners will have the opportunity to choose between two IPS-1350 inboards or four V12-600 outboards, depending on whether they prefer cruising and range or sporty performance. In any case, although the data are still derived from calculations and not from sea trials, a cruising speed in excess of 30 knots (probably 40 in the outboard case), and a maximum speed in excess of 40 for the diesel version or 50 for the outboard gasoline version, are expected. Both choices provide excellent below-deck space for accessories and the tender, a Williams 345 SportJet included as standard.

The cabins

Below deck, she can accommodate up to eight people in four separate cabins, three doubles with en-suite bathrooms and one twin with bunk beds that can access, through the companionway, the fourth bathroom for common use. The full-beam master cabin occupies a quarter of the hull length.
