It will be the newest addition from the Turkish shipyard, headquartered in Southampton, for the now upcoming Boot Düsseldorf: Dromeas 33 WA is a Nordic-style walkaround cabin cruiser with the ability to mount up to 800 hp aft.
As yet little is known about the new creature coming from
Dromeas Yachts
. We can say, however, that the f.t. length is 10.20 meters. Almost certainly, then, this walkaround will have less than 10 meters hull length, and will be classifiable as a watercraft. It will also be able to carry up to 10 people, while below deck the choice will be between one or two cabins, and in the stern two outboards of up to 400 hp each can be installed.
Dromeas D33 WA:
What is certain is that it fits in the middle of an aesthetically recognizable range that currently includes a 28-footer and a 38-footer. The design recalls one of the most fashionable styles of the moment, those of the
Scandinavian adventure boats
, but with distinctly original features. For example, here we have a double edge that extends all the way to the bow, the prominent canopy, and the black anodized aluminum roll cage with a perfectly vertical mast.
A “bad” design then, promising robustness and performance. In fact, this new 10-meter boat can count not only on a high performance fairing (evidently the same, larger, as Dromeas 28) with double step and three tiers of sustaining skids, even on a small displacement, as the shipyard builds (in Izmir) strictly by infusion, with epoxy resins and carbon reinforcements.
Dromeas and fairings “made in the UK”
The hull, in line with the rest of the range, is the work of designer Adam Younger, who is well known not only in the yachting world but also in in-shore and off-shore racing. And if the smaller 28′ sibling touched 50 knots in the most powerful configuration, it is easy to think that something very similar will be able to be done by the new Dromeas 33 WA.
Why the Dromeas D33 WA is a Nordic walkaround.
The deck layout echoes the philosophy of the rest of the range, with a central pilot’s station, symmetrical circulation on either side of it, and a concealed galley behind it. At the bow large sundeck/living area and at the stern dining area with double-order sofas with fold-down backs. Sturdy aluminum handrails everywhere, also distinctive styling elements, but above all essential to ensure safety and firm grip even in challenging weather conditions.
What about below deck? 1/2 cabins on the Dromeas walkaround
Here, as yet, little is known. As we said, the choice will be between one or two cabins. The master in the bow and presumably a smaller sleeping compartment for the children amidships behind the ladder to the deck. Alternatively, it can be used as a large locker and technical compartment (plus, of course, a separate bathroom). Just as with the other two models currently in production, it is easy to imagine that an SUV version will also arrive in the future, thus with the central area of the deck fully cabled.
