Elling E4. You may have never heard of these boats. It is a Dutch shipyard that makes bluewater boats, that is, globetrotters also capable of ocean crossings. This 15-meter, for example, has made one. In the Mediterranean, you have probably never seen one. But why are we telling you about it then?
The hull is of the Elling E4 is made entirely of aramid fiber, Kevlar. It is a technology that we usually see only on the latest generation of racing sailboats. It is self-righting, like the lifeboats, but this is cruiser in its own right. Inside, then, it is luxuriously outfitted with a well-managed interior in terms of space and finish. Another noteworthy feature concerns, then, the motorization. This Elling is single-engine, but as a respectable powertrain there is a saildrive with dedicated fuel tank.
