The electric outboard for Highfield inflatable boats is a reality. A strategic partnership with Pure Watercraft, a manufacturer of electric outboards, has resulted in two models that will be distributed by Pure Watercraft itself.

Highfield is one of the largest aluminum inflatable boat manufacturers in the world. The shipyard, in collaboration with Pure Watercraft, has shown interest in the development of green mobility. Thus were born two Highfield inflatable boats, with electric outboard motors. One should obviously not think of maxi dinghies for long cruises (for now), but tenders or small ribs. In fact, the length of the two models is 3.60 and 3.80 meters.
The two first Highfield inflatable boat models with electric outboard motors are the 11’10” Pure Watercraft by Highfield Classic 360 and the 12’6″ Pure Watercraft by Highfield Classic Deluxe 380.
Technical characteristics of electric outboards
This new line of Highfield inflatable boats will be offered as a package with Pure Outboards fromPure Watercraft. What is this outboard like? The company calls it compact and highly efficient, capable of developing the equivalent of 50 horsepower, combined with quiet operation, zero emissions and no maintenance. With a two-battery system, both RIBS boast a top speed of 22 knots; At top speed it has a range of 14 miles.
The range at a cruising speed of 13 knots is 17 miles (about one hour’s range). At the trolling speed of 3 knots, it sails up to 68 miles.

As we said before, the appropriate use for these characteristics is as a tender or dinghy support to navigate, for example, in areas where you cannot get to with a classic outboard (or inboard) motor.
