lowrance-new-functionalityIn fishing, being on the cutting edge makes all the difference. Here is Lowrance, at the top of boat fishing electronics since 1957, has unveiled a software update for its fishfinders and chartplotters. The update specifically covers. HDS LIVE, HDS Carbon and Elite Ti2.

Update 20.0 includes a number of new features such as support for the Ghost freshwater trolling motor, registration via mobile app, NMEA 2000 update functionality for Mercury VesselView Link, and Mercury autopilot.

What changes for fishermen

With the new software update, fishermen using the Ghost trolling motorwill be able to use their compatible fishfinders for anchoring, direction locking, speed control, and navigation on planned routes. In addition, it is possible to fully customize the Ghost pedal from the menu on the display.

New Lowrance app arrives

The new software also includes the launch of the Lowrance app, now available for download on the app store of the mobile device in use (Apple App Store/Google Play). This new app allows users to register the Lowrance display, access customer support, receive notifications about the latest software updates, and manage waypoint data.

VesselView Link

VesselView Link is a Mercury black box engine interface that connects proprietary SmartCraft data to the NMEA 2000 network. With the new software version, VesselView Link software updates can be performed from an MFD on an NMEA 2000 network. In addition, the Mercury Drifthook, Bowhook and Heading Adjust autopilot functions are now unlocked and no longer require purchase.
