The Cannes Yachting Festival, 10-15 September, is preparing to host a new “made in Italy” product from Evo Yachts: the R6, the shipyard’s new flagship of almost 18 metres. It’s not just the cars that change shape, but also the yachts!

The new flagship, designed by Valerio Rivellini, will bear the shipyard’s trademark: the aft-folding walls. This characteristic has made the shipyard famous, without affecting the aesthetic cleanliness of the lines, but rather enhances the spaces and above all for the flexibility of the internal and external environments.
The Neapolitan shipyard, which makes “transformability” one of its strong points, combines the use of cutting-edge technology and attractive design for a new model that surpasses the previous 4-metre flagship. The straight bow and the high walls are matched by the great elegance of the interior finishes.
between the walk around and the cruiser
Outside there are the typical features of a walk around, which enhances the liveability to the outside while the interior is like a cruiser with large and comfortable rooms, simple and refined. Also on this project a fundamental role has been reserved to the great versatility of the spaces, with the extensible side walls, which almost double the volumes in the cockpit.
At the stern there is the “Transformer”, a modular platform integrated in the beach, which can be used as a support for embarkation or disembarkation from the dock, or as a ladder to the sea or trampoline for diving and, finally, to facilitate the launch and hauling of tenders and jet skis. The beach lounge has a large central sunbathing area with an island shape that allows you to walk around it without any difference in level. Under the sundeck there is space for the tender while two peaks allow you to stow the life rafts, toys or seabobs.
The side platforms on the yacht
In the side walls that can be folded down we find the real trademark of Evo Yacht. How does it work? All it takes is a digital control and the “XTension” side walls open in a matter of seconds, increasing the space available by 40% and transforming the beach lounge into an immense yet exclusive private beach by the sea. This captivating innovation characterises all Evo Yachts models, but on the R6 it is even more important because, when applied to a boat of almost 18 metres, it is unique on the market and allows for a maximum width with open sides that is almost similar to that of a catamaran.
The engines
The choice for the propulsion of the Volvo Penta IPS not only guarantees an engine room with reduced space, but also guarantees the owner the best in terms of performance, reliability, soundproofing, ease of use, reduced consumption and safety during navigation.
The two Volvo Penta IPS can be chosen alternatively from 625 hp (IPS 800) or 725 hp (IPS 950) and, at maximum power, allow a remarkable maximum speed of 36 knots with a cruise around 28 knots.
