Carbonautica specializes in the design and manufacture of high-quality carbon fiber and GFC (glass fiber composite) components. Since its founding in 1998, Carbonautica has produced specialized carbon parts for applications as diverse as professional racing bicycles, rotors for radio-controlled helicopters, and marine steering wheels.

Carbonautica’s production plant is located in the town of Velenje. The fifth largest city in Slovenia, it is the center of Velenje Municipality, with about 30,000 inhabitants. Founded in 1959, the city of Velenje has made enormous efforts to recultivate landscapes ruined by coal exploitation and turn handicap into advantage. The lakes of Velenje have become a tourist attraction. The area of present-day Velenje was first mentioned in 1250. The city boasts a highly skilled and educated workforce.
