Three fast hulls with which to take on the ocean
Settemari Yachts offers in Italy Leen trimarans, explorers for long ocean cruising
Eric Bruneel, owner and founder of the Neel sailing trimaran shipyard, must be someone who likes to joke around. When Eric decided to jump, like so many, into the motor market, he did so with a new brand Leen Trimarans (Neel in reverse). A joke only in name, because these French motor trimarans are serious ocean cruising explorers, safe and efficient multihulls with very low hydrodynamic drag. Equipped with a diesel engine in the center hull and two electric motors in the side hulls, Leen trimarans are easy to maneuver both in port and at anchor. Like their sailing cousins, Leen’s motor trimarans maintain a unique style, with a vast deck plan and two smaller floats positioned further aft than the central hull so that, viewed from above, their profile looks like that of a monohull.
Imported into Italy by Settemari Yachts, formerly Neel’s importer for Italy, the motor range consists of three models. The two larger ones, 56 and 72, were designed for transatlantic sailing, on a specific order from a shipowner, while the smaller one, the 51, was based on the design of its sailing cousin Neel 52. An innovative feature of Leen 51 is the presence of the master cabin on the main deck, which is particularly comfortable and spacious. A hardtop on the fly bridge, in addition to providing shelter and protection, provides a large flat surface on which solar panels are placed to improve sailing range in electric mode. An alternative proposal to the classic multihull, designed for those who like to go fast and far. This is the out-of-the-box offering of Settemari Yachts, a company specializing in new and used boat sales, reffitting work and boat transfers to its owners.

FULL-BEAM MASTER CABIN
Leen 51’s master cabin, as on the shipyard’s larger models, is located on the main deck, a solution that makes it particularly comfortable and spacious.
AS A LARGE MONOHULL
Seen from above, the Leen 56 trimaran, with its vast deck plan and two smaller floats positioned further aft than the central hull, make it look like a large monohull.
