The first 2024 innovations are already on the horizon, one example being the new Plate 40 (11.99 meters) from Fairline, which promises to be one of the most eagerly anticipated boats to debut in the upcoming Düsseldorf. Heir to the iconic Targa 38, among the shipyard’s bestsellers with more than 300 sold, this new 40-footer implements a design that has worked with a whole series of improvements and innovations in high demand on the market today.
Fairline Targa 40
The style of the Targa 40 is one that is intended to combine elegance with contemporaneity, with modern, sporty lines and peculiarities that are highly valued by those who make cruise use. For example, we find a very spacious open cockpit, protected by hardtop and electric sunroof with retractable canvas; in the bow, on the other hand, very clean and essential large sunbathing areas dominate the scene. As for the side windows, they have been enlarged on the Targa 40 to allow natural light to illuminate all spaces below deck.
Fairline Targa 40 – Blanket
From the stern, renderings show how the idea of offering a modular design is preponderant on this hull, as also demonstrated by the side (starboard) broadside that can be folded down to expand the space on board while the twin sundecks with fold-down backs are capable of transforming into sofas for guests’ use.
The shape of the hard-top, with an electric sunroof in the center, transforms the protected area into an open-air space with its own C-shaped dining area inside with a central table and a wet-bar behind the dashboard equipped with the latest Garmin multifunction touch screen. The built-in garage can accommodate dinghies up to 2.7 meters with electric outboard.
Fairline Targa 40 – Below Deck
Below deck there is sleeping space for up to 4 people divided between two cabins with the forward master stateroom reaching an impressive 1.98 meters of headroom and private bathroom. There are two twin beds in the guest cabin amidships that can be converted into a double bed.
Propulsion
In terms of propulsion, owners of the Fairline Targa 40 will then be able to choose between a Volvo Penta D6-340 and a Volvo Penta D6-380, with estimated top speeds between 32 and 36 knots.
