IT IS THE GATEWAY TO THE WORLD OF FERRETTI YACHTS. Ferretti Yachts 500, the new entry-level of the range, is not only the first stage of a path that, in terms of dimensions, starts from 15 meters to reach up to 29 meters. The Ferretti Yachts 500 embodies a new creative vision coined by the shipyard to make the experience of life on board even more exciting. It’s a complex and ambitious project, where the concept of living space finds a new interpretation. The size of this model, contained in just over 15 meters in length, represents not a limit but a stimulus to create something unique.
Ferretti Yachts 500: the project
The boat is the result of a long research work, which brought together around the same table the Product Strategic Committee chaired by engineer Piero Ferrari, the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, architect Filippo Salvetti for the exteriors and the Ideaeitalia studio for the new interior concept, where more generous volumes give the owner and his guests the feeling of being on a larger boat. The external lines have a slender and dynamic profile which is also enhanced by the design of the hull windows, whose modern imprint establishes a dialogue in continuity with that which characterizes the superstructure. Their role is central in the design of this new model. On a visual level, they eliminate the distances from the surrounding environment which thus becomes part of everyday life, becoming its added value. A perception that goes from visual to physical in the cockpit. The way this surface was conceived introduces one of the main themes underlying the entire project: that is, flexibility combined with the ease of use of the spaces.

The two side ladders facilitate access from the cockpit to the stern platform whose generous dimensions strengthen the link with the marine element that becomes the absolute protagonist of this space. Depending on the time of the day, this space can have different functions: it can be used both as a dining area and as a relaxation area thanks to the possibility to recline the back of the sofa and transform the table into a seat with cushions. Open-air life is enhanced by the flybridge, which houses a large C-shaped sofa with a table as well as a large sundeck with a double backrest that occupies the bow portion of the boat. An additional sunbathing area is located in the bow. The attention paid to designing outdoor spaces to be lived in complete freedom is also reflected in the way the interiors were conceived.

The space arrangement, the choice of furnishing accessories, the color tones, marry the concept of timeless quality and, once again, put the theme of functionality at the center. On the main deck, the galley has been designed to serve both the cockpit and the internal dining area which, when necessary, can turn into a comfortable living area. The informal elegance of this space as well as of all the interiors of the Ferretti Yachts 500 is further highlighted by the materials and shades chosen for the fabrics that clearly express the desire to create a domestic intimacy. The interior style is proposed in two moods.
The solution called “Contemporaneo” (represented in the model of this article) is inspired by the colors of Santorini. Here, the dominant essence is oak in the various sand tones on bulkheads, furniture, and parquet, and in shades of white for the glossy and matt lacquers. The same ones that also characterize the sleeping area available in two layout versions: one with a master cabin, a Vip cabin, two heads, and a laundry; and a second in which a third twin-bedded cabin is added.
Finally, the performance. Twin Cummins QSB 6.7 engines with a power of 550 mhp deliver a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots. A package of Humphree interceptor trim correctors with automatic functions ensures maximum ease of use and optimized consumption.
