The official debut will take place at the Cannes Motor Show 2021, but the Fiart Mare shipyard wanted to celebrate the launch of the new Fiart Seawalker 39 in style. The first time at the construction site in Baia, Naples, is not forgotten, especially if everything is festively set up for the occasion. “It sounds like a wedding”-says a colleague-and it is true. Everything is done within regulations, but with an enthusiasm that makes this launch truly special. The context isInside Fiart during which customers, dealers and journalists were invited by the shipyard to learn about Fiart’s future, including ambitions and projects that are bringing it back to the center of the nautical scene.
Fiart Seawalker 39:
Initially speaking were Giancarlo and Annalaura di Luggo, sons of Fiart founder Ruggiero di Luggo and now CEO and president of Fiart Mare, respectively.
Then it was time for managing director Marco Vertecchi, who also presented the Fiart Academy project, a training school to create highly specialized professional figures. Finally, Simone Lorenzano, general manager, presented the two new Seawalker 35 and 39 models and their DNA.
Fiart Seawalker 39 – The TEST
If everyone at the site is present with the same enthusiasm at the launch, it means that the connection to what is being done, regardless of the role, is very strong. The photo below explains this feeling better than words. While the Fiart 35 Seawalker will have its world premiere at Cannes 2021, during Fiart Inside we had a chance to test the 39 Seawalker.
There is no shortage of choice in the walk-around market. Therefore, bringing something different and at the same time functional and beautiful becomes essential. The new Fiart Seawalker 39 is 12.6 meters long overall and echoes the typical lines of the Seawalker range: virtually vertical bow, smooth profile and a long window in the broadside. The idea behind this model is to combine the habitability of a short-cruise craft (on deck and below deck) with the comfort and daytime sailing performance of a walkaround. Let’s see what it looks like.
Fiart Seawalker 39 – Deck Plan
Stepping aboard the Fiart Seawalker 39 from the stern to strike immediately is the width. The U-shaped seating towards the stern, as in the configuration in the photo, and the space available give the idea of a larger boat, as a 45-footer can be. This area can clearly be transformed into a large sundeck or dining area. In detail, the owner can choose to have two front sofas and dining table or with a sofa that can be converted into a sundeck with a center table.
The steps conceal a stowage area, while the platform in the standard version is fixed. The expense of installing a mobile one is not trivial, but it turns this section into an easy and extremely convenient access to the water, a pieds dans l’eau area where you can enjoy the roadstead in absolute relaxation. With 250 kg hydraulic handling, this area also allows the hauling and launching of a tender or on-board toys.
Going toward the bow is an outdoor kitchen equipped with a cabinet with grill or stove top, sink and refrigerator. This area is behind the command seat, while to the left are the steps down below deck.
Walkways are wide on both sides, making it easy to access the bow where an additional sundeck is located.

Fiart Seawalker 39 – Interior
Aboard a 12-meter walkaround, the interior is usually an area that is rather sacrificed. On the new Fiart Seawalker 39, the design effort ensured that even the below-deck area was livable. The boat can accommodate up to 12 people on board with four berths that can be configured as needed.
There is a choice of a master cabin with a bed in the bow and a lounging area in the stern or with a completely separate sleeping area for guests. The volumes really surprise starting with the height in the forward cabin or the bathroom with separate shower. The maximally utilized spaces match the great brightness given by the large windows. All these features make the boat particularly livable in all parts and ideal for a family that also wants to take part in short cruises.
Fiart Seawalker 39 – Motorization and Performance
After looking at exterior and interior layouts, we move on to look at performance and navigation. During our test there were 8 people on board, about 470 liters of fuel of the total 940 liters, and 620 liters of water. The boat was therefore quite loaded and simulated what are typical characteristics of a day at sea with friends.
The Fiart Seawalker 39 can be powered in several options from a pair of Volvo Penta D4-270 DPIs, installed on the boat tested, to D6 440 DPIs. In the test configuration we reached a maximum speed of 34 knots with an hourly consumption of 124 liters per hour at 3600 rpm. We found the ideal cruising speed for the conditions the boat was in during the test to be between 2800 and 3000 rpm: about 22-25 knots with consumption between 65 and 80 liters per hour.
A more powerful engine than the one tested may give lighter feelings and more safety when really sailing with a full load, although in general the hull feels quite agile and maneuverable even in this configuration. Overall, it is not an overly sporty model, but it feels dry and soft in wave transitions.
