FIM 420 Regina

FIM, Fabbrica Italiana Motoscafi, building on the success of its Regina range, introduces the third boat in the segment, the FIM 420 Regina Anima Sportiva. At the inauguration of FIM’s new factories in Cividate al Piano (BG), FIM announced this new 13.6-meter, heir to the previous 340 Regina and 470 Regina. It is therefore a new sport yacht with hard top for cruising. All while offering up to 4 beds, ample outdoor space, and more than satisfactory performance.

FIM 420 Regina

The all-new FIM 420 Regina Anima Sportiva will be available in two versions: one open, with a lower front window, and the other with an integrated hard top with the windshield closed. In this second option, the Hard Top is designed to complement the harmonies of the lines, drawing inspiration from the automotive. As for dual engines, three options will be available to owners’ choice, with ranges between 320 and 440 horsepower per engine.

FIM 420 Regina – Exterior

Starting with the exteriors, the new 420 Regina has significant volumes, emphasized by the design of the broadside fenestration. From the stern then, comfort and livability are emphasized by a lift platform equipped with a retractable gangway and side decks, which can be folded down, giving the entire cockpit area comfortable spaces and free movement. In the center of this area is a double, if not larger, sundeck facing, toward the bow, a coffee table and another sofa, thus creating both a space for relaxation and a convivial area.

Amidships, aft of the helm station, are a wet-bar and helmsman and passenger seating, covered, in the Hard Top version, by a full top that runs all the way over the convivial cockpit area, leaving the sundeck uncovered. There is also a top opening in the top, if any, which is ideal for circulating air or letting the sunshine through.

Finally, forward of the windshield are a second sundeck and an innovation specific to this model: the area carved out at the extreme bow enjoys dual use: during mooring it is an operational area that is converted to a lounge area, thus offering an additional sofa.

Interior

Shifting attention to the interior, we have a height at about 2 meters, good (natural) brightness and versatility.

Kitchen and dinette

Looking at the layout of the below-deck area, the FIM 420 Regina will have a full galley, an aft master stateroom, double vanity with separate interconnecting shower, and, forward, a convertible dinette, capable of converting from a living area to a second double cabin.

Master Cabin

The versatility of the rooms is provided by a folding wall, a solution that allows for both a daytime layout and a separation of spaces. This creates two large cabins, both with private access to the bathroom.

FIM 420 Regina – Motorization

To conclude, for this new 13-meter powerboat, FIM envisions three distinct propulsion options: a pair of 370-horsepower Yanmar engines, a pair of 320-horsepower Volvo Penta D4 engines, and, finally, a pair of 440-horsepower Volvo Penta D6 engines. Regardless of the chosen engine, the tank capacity equals 1200 liters, divided over two tanks of 600 liters each.

The maximum design speed, however, is 35 knots, but it will be necessary to wait for the launch to know its actual performance and final specifications.
