Boot Düsseldorf, the trade show that ushers in the new year, always brings important news and previews. The 2024 one was no different, and FIM, Fabbrica Italiana Motoscafi, chose the German fair as a showcase for the launch of its new flagship, the FIM 500 Regina, with which the shipyard will continue the new design chapter it has undertaken.

FIM 500 Regina: what it will be like

About the new Queen of FIM there is still mystery. In fact, only some outline information was released during the preview. Let’s start with the numbers: we will probably be looking at a 15-meter hull or similar. This is an interesting growth from the 13.6-meter FIM 440, which already demonstrated a truly remarkable attention to the interior, both in terms of space and finish.

Preview

Looking at the first image released, the new 500 Regina, is clearly an FIM: the lines, the shape of the windows, the large windshield integrated into the hard top. Component, the latter, whose composition we already know: it will be made entirely of carbon, to lighten the superstructure, which will benefit the center of gravity and maneuverability.

To match the aesthetics, however, we envision significant board spaces both outside and inside. Starting with the deck layout, we see a stern with various solutions for relaxation and conviviality: a large sundeck and contiguous dining area, for example. Folding bulwarks, a central plus on modern yachts that allows space to be expanded by creating a terrace overlooking the sea, will probably also be offered as an option. In the bow, however, a sunpad in the deckhouse creates an additional lounging area accessible on both sides via walkways served by handrails.

Under the hard-top integrated with the windshield, however, will be more convivial spaces, complete with sofas with a central table (usable as dining) and what will presumably be a bar top or outdoor kitchen. As for interior volumes, which suggest cabin spaces complete with bunks, we will still have to wait for future reveals, however, as well as for motorization and performance.
