Fisherman: here’s what’s new in 2020

In the landscape of American fisherman, fishing boats par excellence, there will be several new features for 2020. We selected three: a Bertram, a Hatteras and a Viking.

Fisherman: here are three new fishing boats for 2020

Bertram 50

The historic Bertram brand in 2020 is preparing to launch a new boat: the Bertram 50. It will be foot fisherman that will be available in open and sport-top versions. This model that will join the 35 and 61 models already in production at the company’s plant in Tampa, Florida. The master cabin with private bathroom is located in the bow, and there is also a guest cabin. On board as standard are 1,150-hp Caterpillar C18 engines, but two new 1,550-hp MANs will be installed for the first version.

The maximum speed in this configuration is expected to be around 40 knots. Fuel capacity of over 4500 liters and a Seakeeper gyro-stabilizer complete the basic package of this boat. A large 16.5-square-meter cockpit with mezzanine seating to have room for a team of fishermen and sailors. A draft of 1.2 meters gives excellent range and shallow water capabilities. The new 50-footer will join the 35 and 61 Convertible models already in production at the Tampa, Florida plant.

Hatteras GT65 Carolina

Hatteras adds a boat to its GT series with the new GT65 Carolina. The Hatteras engineering team used computational fluid dynamics analysis for a hull that would have optimal boat performance and handling. Like all boats in the Hatteras GT Series, the GT65 Carolina will exceed 40 knots and sail in the 30-knot range. Hatteras offers owners the opportunity to customize both the four-cabin triple-headed master stateroom, which features the largest master stateroom in its class.

Viking Yachts 46 Billfish

Viking Yacht Company introduces the fisherman 46 Billfish, a boat designed for ease of maintenance and operation, with a shallow draft and some family amenities. The 46 features a 13-square-meter cockpit, flybridge with center console, walk-around wheelhouse and guest seating, with a salon-like helm deck with optional air conditioning. An oversized daywalk on the centerline provides quick access to the engine room. Accommodations include a spacious forward master cabin, bunks below deck on the port side, a full galley, and a bathroom with separate shower.
