We tested the brand new Focchi 900 with a pair of Suzuki DF300APs aft, a combination that proved successful even in challenging sea conditions.
Focchi ‘s 900 is the latest model launched by the Ravenna-based shipyard. In keeping with the shipyard’s DNA, it is a fast, robust and “compact” craft. It has a hull with a decisive V at the stern(24°), limited width and weight (the latter only 1,600 kg) and is made of GRP and Kevlar: in other words, the Focchi 900 is a “ready for anything” craft.
We tested it in its fishing version, so almost completely cleared, with only a large forepeak locker, a sturdy tubular T-Top to protect the console amidships, and a kidney rest also made of tubular.
In the stern are two Suzuki DF300AP, 4,025 cc cubic capacity, 55° V-shaped 6-cylinder, which once again demonstrated their “badness,” but also their ability to be one with the boat, thanks first of all to drive axle offset from the crankshaft, a solution that allows the center of gravity of the propeller to be moved more to the middle of the boat.
In rather challenging weather conditions, we approached 50 knots, all the time with a pleasant and reassuring feeling of total control of the vehicle.
We explain everything, in detail, in our VIDEO.
